Being in strategic program development at Point Blue allows me to weave all aspects of my experience into the development of climate-smart conservation programs and, importantly, get them funded. I am honored (and often humbled) by being able to work with some of the best scientists in the business to help them shape the tools and programs necessary for our society to meet the challenges of a changing climate. With a background in both terrestrial and marine conservation that has incorporated community-based solutions, partnership development, and organizational dynamics I feel at home at an organization that shares my commitment to finding solutions that protect the natural world in a way that incorporates community.

I began this work with the California League of Conservation Voters, managing political campaigns for environmental candidates and ballot initiatives. This led to opening the Pacific Region Office of the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), then executive director roles with San Francisco Baykeeper and for the Coral Reef Alliance.

When not working in Petaluma, I can be found in Berkeley where my wife and I have lived for 17 years – unless I am surfing or hiking.
