I received a B.S. in Biology from San Jose State University in 1976.  In 1975 I Became a California State Park Ranger and worked in Santa Cruz Mountains then on Monterey Bay State Beaches. There in 1979 I met PRBO biologists studying snowy plovers. Since 1993 I led State Park staff with PRBO biologists to protect snowy plovers. In 2007 I retired from State Parks, joined PRBO (now Point Blue) and have continued with intensive monitoring and management efforts to protect breeding Snowy Plovers in Monterey Bay.
