Emerging Programs and Partnerships
As a Partner Biologist for the Rangeland Watershed Initiative, I work closely with the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) staff and private land owners in Mariposa County. Using the USDA Farm Bill incentive programs we address individual land owner resource concerns while improving the overall health of the land and ecosystems.
Born and raised on my family’s ranch in northern California I have always had a passion for wildlife and the ranching lifestyle. I received my B.S. in Wildlife, Conservation Biology and Applied Vertebrate Ecology from Humboldt State University and my M.S. from Texas Tech University in Wildlife, Aquatic, and Wildlands Science and Management. My focus has been on large mammals like deer, elk, pronghorn, and black bears, but I also enjoy examining entire ecosystems and species interactions.
When I am not working I enjoy being outside with my dog, helping my family with the cattle, sheep, and other projects on the ranch, hanging out with friends, hiking, camping, and live music.
