Kerri Beeker, B.A.
Development and Membership
My role as Point Blue’s Development Officer draws on my 10-plus years of fundraising and marketing experience with nonprofits. I am focused on our planned giving program, expansion of other fundraising areas and alignment of our marketing and communication programs with Point Blue's mission and vision.
My family moved to California in 2011 from Washington DC, where I led the Development Department for the headquarters office of one of the nation’s largest health charities. The work was important and inspiring and the funds I raised made a real difference in people’s lives.
I was drawn to Point Blue because I can continue to make a difference for people today and for generations to come. Our move to California was for quality of life and to raise our two young boys in a place where they could experience nature's beauty and diversity. With the work we do at Point Blue my grandchildren and future generations will continue to learn from and experience the wildlife and ecosystems we preserve and protect.
Nature has been an important and essential part of my life from my earliest years. My childhood home, just outside Boston, MA, was on the edge of a pond and forest and I spent countless hours exploring and experiencing the diversity and beauty of this special place. Today hiking the trails around our home in St. Helena with my husband and our two sons is one of my favorite pastimes- especially foraging for wild mushrooms in the Spring.
I recevied a BA in Journalism from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and augmented by studies at the Universite Catholique d'Ouest in Angers, France. I continue to enjoy traveling to France and I'm especially drawn to the rugged, beautiful lands of the Camargue and the Calanques along the Mediterranean coast.
In addition to my professional work at Point Blue, I serve as a volunteer board member on the St. Helena Public Schools Foundation and Endowment Trust and with the Vine Trail Coalition.
