Alison Pollack

STRAW Project Manager

As a  STRAW Project Manager, I assist with the planning,  implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of K-12-planted STRAW restoration sites throughout the Bay Area. There is no typical day, but often you can find me planting native plants with students, coordinating with landowners, installing irrigation, or weeding exotic plants!

Before finding my way to the Bay Area, I grew up in Maryland and then ventured west to Seattle where I completed my B.A. at Seattle University with a dual major in English Literature and Environmental Studies. I held internships and seasonal positions with several organizations including Seattle Audubon, but discovered my passion for habitat restoration while interning and then completing contract work for the Golden Gate Parks Conservancy in the Presidio and GGNRA.

In 2016 I completed an M.S. degree in Environmental Management from the University of San Francisco where I completed coursework in Ecology and wrote a Master’s Project examining the impacts of climate change to biodiversity of Bay Area vegetation. When I’m not in the field getting muddy or in the Petaluma office, you can often find me hunting for wildflowers, riding my bike, or roller skating.
