Renée Cormier

Avian Ecologist

I am an avian ecologist at Point Blue in the Pacific Coast and Central Valley Group. My work is focused on intern training at the Palomarin Field Station, Northern Spotted Owl monitoring in Marin County, and working on a variety of songbird projects in the Bay Area. I also help coordinate Point Blue’s oil spill preparedness and response efforts.

I grew up in New Brunswick, Canada. Shortly after completing my B.Sc. at Acadia University in Nova Scotia, I joined Point Blue in 2002 as a banding intern at Palomarin, and since then, have worked on a variety of Point Blue projects throughout California.

When I’m not following owls around the forested slopes of Marin County, or mist netting songbirds with the Palomarin interns, I can be found in my office at the Palomarin Field Station in Bolinas.
