Zach Warnow

Director of Communications

After a childhood in and outside of New York City, I really fell in love with the outdoors and western landscapes over eight years living in Colorado, including four years at the Colorado College, where I earned a B.A. in Sociology. After a year living in a tiny (but beautiful) ski town, in 2005 I moved to the Bay Area where I began focusing my energy on helping non-profits use strategic communications to help achieve their goals. I spent five years working with Resource Media, a year with Big Think Studios, and then six years with the ClimateWorks Foundation. At ClimateWorks, I led a communications-focused grant-making program to promote clean energy narratives and drove communications strategies for our in-house programs.

I recently moved from Oakland to Fairfax, where I enjoy mountain biking (without having to load my bike on a car!), hiking around with my wife and baby, and chasing raccoons off of the property. I’m based in Point Blue’s Petaluma office but value every opportunity I can get to spend time in the field with our amazing staff.
