Foundation Thanks

PRBO thanks our foundation supporters who have made recent contributions.

The Elinor Patterson Baker Foundation provided generous support for our effort to reduce whale strikes in key shipping lanes off San Francisco Bay and PRBO’s long-term ecological monitoring and protection of Farallon Island seabirds, marine mammals, and white sharks, in cooperation with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. We are grateful to the Marisla Foundation and the Frank A. Campini Foundation for their grants to our Farallon Islands Program.

We thank the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for providing a grant to our project enhancing Sierra meadows and watersheds and our effort to review California Current forage fish and predator dynamics and recommend ways to improve ecosystem-based forage fish management.

Resources Legacy Fund renewed funding for PRBO to provide bird ecology and conservation guidance to the Central Valley Flood Protection Plan.

The Mill Valley Streamkeepers and Pacific Gas and Electric Company provided generous gifts to the Students and Teachers Restoring a Watershed (STRAW) Project.

We thank the Cleo Foundation for funding our Youth Science Leaders Project, an opportunity for Bay Area high school students to learn and communicate about ecology and environmental issues.

We are appreciative of the Dorothy and Jonathan Rintels Charitable Trust and The Libra Foundation/ for supporting our efforts to guide tidal marsh restoration and management in San Francisco Bay and develop computerized maps of wetland habitats.

We are appreciative of the Kimball Foundation for a general support gift.

These are among the many foundations supporting PRBO’s programs.
