Informatics

As a member of the Informatics team, I am focused on making our Point Blue Science Cloud applications implemented successfully with our larger partners and building opportunities for this Cloud to be adopted more broadly. Previously, I was the Chief Operations Officer at Point Blue, overseeing our Informatics and IT teams, focusing on designing, developing, auditing and improving the use of operational systems, as well as defining and communicating metrics our progress on meeting intended goals, across the organization. Before that, I was Chief Technology Officer, helping to create many of our all web applications, including the California Avian Data Center, Our Coast Our Future, and our extensive avian data management and analytics tools.

Prior to coming to Point Blue, I spent over 20 years in software development, working most recently at Intuit on Quicken online products for consumers. I helped to create Autodesk’s GIS Market Group, and worked at ESRI as a member of the Arc/Info development team and developing custom applications.

I hold a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from University of California at Berkeley.

When I’m not working on a new web application, you might find me tending my olive orchard or backpacking in the Sierras.
