Birding Around P-Town
11 am – 1 pm
$45 per person donation to Bird-A-Thon requested – all walks include pie and tea/coffee
($25 student/senior; sliding scale negotiable if needed)
RSVP to Lishka Arata at firstname.lastname@example.org. All walks have a maximum sign up of 15 people.
Meet at the Petaluma Pie Company, 125 Petaluma Blvd N. at 10:50 am. We’ll walk a fairly easy 1.5 mile loop to Penry then Oak Hill Park and back to bird these two very accessible hot spots. Bring your Bird-A-Thon donation (or donate online before), comfortable walking shoes, layers, binoculars if you have them (extras will be available), and water. The walk will be led by Point Blue’s Lishka Arata and Dennis Jongsomjit with Pie Company staff assistance.
The Petaluma Pie Company and Point Blue have flocked together to form the “Pied-billed Grebes” Bird-A-Thon team and they’re inviting the community to join the gaggle and help them reach their fundraising goal of $2,500 to benefit conservation science and their aim of detecting 100 bird species throughout the day. Join one of their three team walks, donate online, or participate in the raffle-style contest inside Petaluma Pie Company to guess how many species were counted throughout the day with pie prizes!
As a supporter of Point Blue’s Bird-A-Thon, you will be joining passionate birders, nature enthusiasts, scientists, and conservationists as we celebrate the wonders of fall migration, all while raising money for Point Blue’s science, conservation, and education programs. Since Bird-A-Thon’s inception, individuals like you have raised more than $3 million for conservation.
