7 Hamilton Landing, Novato, CA 94949
Come join the 40th annual California Coastal Cleanup at the Novato Baylands on the shore of San Pablo Bay!
Together we will be cleaning up beautiful and vital salt marsh habitat, home to hundreds of species of plants, birds, and other wildlife – including a number of endangered species.
Meet in the large parking lot behind the hangar buildings (we will have signs). We will primarily focus on removing invasive weeds while picking up any trash we find along the Bay Trail and adjacent wildlife corridor (directly across from the meeting location/parking area). Easy-moderate physical activity, requiring some level of walking and bending. Snacks, water, and other beverages will be provided, along with equipment (gloves, buckets, tools, etc.) and optional background information/materials on the history and ecology of the site. Additional food and water, sun protection (hat, layers, sunscreen), and closed-toed shoes (that you don’t mind getting dirty) are highly recommended. Come have fun restoring a special natural space!
