Whales & Ship Strikes

Point Blue’s Cotton Rockwood and Jaime Jahncke just published novel research finding that each year more than 18 blue, 22 humpback, and 43 fin whales die off the west coast from ship strikes. Farallon Milestone

On August 12, 2017, Pete Warzybok, Point Blue biologist, spent his 2,188th day on the Farallon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, making him the person who has spent the most time on the islands since we began keeping records in 1968.
