Nick Tipon

Director

Nick retired from teaching after 33 years with Santa Rosa City Schools. After his retirement in 2007, he worked as a cultural resources archaeological monitor in Marin and Sonoma Counties. He is an enrolled member and elder of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, the local Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Tribe. He has been a member of the STRAW team for the past five years. He has consulted with various national museums since his retirement and consulted with many private and public agencies on the effects of climate, its changes and the effect on indigenous cultural practices.
