2026 Natural Areas Conference (NAC26): Where Science Meets Stewardship

5:00 PM - 5:45 PM

Crowne Plaza Asheville

The Natural Areas Association Conference (NAC26) brings together practitioners to share emerging research and evidence-based practices while building connections and collaborations that advance the management and conservation of natural areas. This year’s conference takes place October 5–8, 2026.

On Tuesday, October 6, Point Blue Roots Program Coordinator Emily Mecke and Director of Community Engagement Rose Snyder will present findings from a recent geospatial analysis of 115 Roots Program projects across 38 California counties. Their presentation, “Bridging the Gap: How Small-Scale Restoration on Working Lands Supports Biodiversity and Connectivity,” explores how small-scale restoration projects can contribute to biodiversity and landscape connectivity.

The presentation will take place from 5:00–5:45 PM as part of the “Private Lands Conservation Efforts 2” session.
