The Beak Geeks South Bay Bird Walk

1195 Hope St, Alviso (San Jose), CA 95002

9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Alviso Marina County Park

The 47th Annual Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon is hitting the South Bay! The Beak Geeks welcome birders of all levels to join us at Alviso Marina County Park for a Bird-A-Thon walk with South Bay-based staff from Point Blue’s Students and Teachers Restoring A Watershed (STRAW) program

We’ll meet at the parking lot of Alviso Marina County Park, located in Alviso, a district of San Jose. There will be an orange traffic sign saying “STRAW project”. The walk will be led by Denise Lopez, Restoration Project Manager, and Jenni Phillips, Restoration Senior Project Manager. Together, we’ll try to spot (or hear!) as many bird species as possible while enjoying time in nature.

What to Expect:
The path is mostly flat, with a mix of gravel, dirt, cement sidewalks, and wooden boardwalks. It is ADA compliant. There is a $6 Santa Clara County Parks vehicle fee and onsite restrooms.

What to Bring:

  • Binoculars or spotting scopes (we’ll also have some extras)
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Sunglasses, hat and layers
  • Water
  • A snack if you need one

This is a free event but space is limited! Please sign up here.
