737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA
Join our bilingual team as part of Point Blue’s 47th Annual Rich Stallcup Bird-A-Thon! We will meet at 9am on Saturday, October 11 at the Novato Baylands native plant nursery, 737 Aberdeen Rd, Novato, CA. We’ll then walk at a relaxed pace along the Bay Trail until 12pm looking for as many species of birds as we can find as a team, along with other wildlife and special wetland plants.
The event will be in English and Spanish, and anyone is welcome to join – including families with young children, small groups, those with no birding experience, and seasoned birders. Binoculars, bird books, and spotting scopes will be provided (bringing your own binoculars is still a good idea if you have them), plus snacks and drinks part-way through the walk. We recommend bringing your own water bottle, sun protection, and comfortable walking shoes.
Some of the birds we might see include spectacular flocks of sandpipers, hundreds of migratory ducks, giant White Pelicans, and tiny Snowy Plovers. Come bird with us and learn about the special salt marsh ecosystem – we hope to see you there!
Visit Los Pajaritos Alegres de Novato Baylands’ Bird-A-Thon page to become an official member of the team.
